I must be living in a cave.
I seem to be about 5 years behind on everything, so when I discovered this recipe I was blown. a. way. It’s sweet, and silky and decadent…..and healthy!
I am a sweets person. My sweet tooth is out of this world – so when I can get sweets with a healthy source of sweetener and all natural ingredients I’m gonna take it. Not to mention it takes about all of 2 minutes to whip up.
This recipe is raw, gluten free, egg free, and can be made dairy free. This is the ultimate sweet treat. And if you’re like me and have never heard of this then you need to try it. If you have heard of it and already made it (like 5 years ago when it was popular apparently), make it again. Your taste buds will thank you.
There seem to be multiple versions of this recipe everywhere so this is my take on it.

Chocolate Avocado Mousse.
You Will Need:
2 Avocados
1/2 cup honey (use your best honey here. Raw and local is best. Maple syrup can also be used – again be sure to use the real deal)
1/2 cup milk (I used goat. Feel free to use whatever you prefer: almond, soy, cashew, goat, or cow)
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of sea salt
Directions:
Place avocados into a food processor (or your weapon of choice) and blend. Pausing to scrape down the sides several times. You want the avocado SMOOTH. Smooth baby smooth. No lumps. Scrape, blend, scrape, blend.
Once silky and smooth add in honey, milk, cocoa powder, vanilla, and salt. Blend some more, again being sure to scrape down the sides until well combined.
And then enjoy silky smooth goodness.
I topped ours with frozen whipped cream and frozen black cherries. Fantastic summer dessert.
Enjoy.
