It’s Monday my friends!
The beginning of a new week. Marvelous Monday!
No? A little too cheery for a Monday morning?
What about Cookie Monday? Now do you feel a little better?
Still no?
Hmmm….
If I could pass these wonderful cookies through the screen to you, I totally I would. But since I cannot here is the recipe instead.
Chocolate Chunk Cookies
You Will Need:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 sugar
1/4 brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup of flour
Handful or 2 of chocolate chips or chocolate chunks
Directions:
Cream butter and sugars together.
Add vanilla extract and egg. Mix well.
Add baking soda and salt. Mix well
Add flour. Mix well.
Add chocolate chunks/chips. Mix well.
Drop by the teaspoon onto an ungreased cookie sheet (I use a slightly overflowing teaspoon. The size is totally up to you. Just try not to make them too big. Or else they spread to much.)
Bake in 350 degree oven for 9 minutes. Allow to cool just enough that they won’t fall apart when you try to remove them from the cookie sheet and then stuff one in your mouth. Because dude. Duuuude. These are pretty fantastic.
I used leftover Christmas chocolate (yes I still have chocolate from Christmas. I’m pretty proud) for the chocolate chunks. But you can use whatever you would like. Mint chips, butterscotch chips, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, Skor bits….seriously the possibilities are endless!
Sorry Santa…. |
There. Is Monday a little better now? Com’on let me see you smile…..that’s better! Even if you’re not smiling, it ain’t going to bring me down, cuz I got cookies.
Now seriously go and make them. And then you will have cookies too. And then you’ll be smiling.
The End.
It made me smile that you used a hammer for your chocolate chunks, very Monday-esque :-). Sorry Santa, but you look even more delicious as a cookie.
